Panthers Party accuses police of illegal detention of activists
New Delhi, Jul 9 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party today accused the Delhi Police of ''ilegally'' detaining its activists who were demonstrating outside the Prime Minister's Office.
Panthers Party chairman Bhim Singh said here Party's Delhi unit president and general secretary were denied bail by police under a bailable offence. ''They were holding a peaceful protest outside the PMO against the remarks of National Security Advisor M K Narayanan against me...the DCP of New Delhi district did not allow the local ACP to release them on bail and had sent them to Tihar Jail,'' he alleged.
He claims to have brought the matter to the notice of the Union Home Minister and the Lt Governor and demanded action against the cops.
