SP Parliamentary Board meeting begins
New Delhi, Jul 8 (UNI) The crucial meeting of the Samajwadi Party Parliamentary Board began here this morning amid reports that some of the party MPs were 'in touch with the BSP' and might violate party whip if a no confidence motion was brought in Parliament against the UPA government over the nuclear deal.
The meeting, being attended by party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and other senior party leaders will discuss the issue. The party leaders have already declared their support to the Congress on the nuclear deal.
The Samajwadi Party with 39 MPs will play crucial role in saving the Manmohan Singh-led government in Parliament if the Left withdraws support from the government on the issue.
The report that the BSP has been able to win over some of the SP MPs to vote in favour of the no confidence motion had created a flutter in the Congress as the party was banking on SP's support.
