Leela Palace bags leading business hotel award
Mumbai, Jul 8: Hotel Leela Palace of Bangalore has been chosen as 'India's leading Business Hotel' for the second consecutive time by the World Travel Awards.
Hailed as 'the Oscars of the Travel Industry', by the Wall Street Journal, WTA is the travel industry's most prestigious and comprehensive awards programme, according to a release received from the Hotel Leela Ventures here.
Receiving the award in Shanghai, The Leela Palace - Bangalore General Manager Charles de Foucault said, ''We are humbled by this award. More than 1,67,000 travel professionals voted us to be the best in India for the second time in a row and we strive to delight and satisfy our guests. We deliver warm gracious Indian hospitality and extraordinary service to ensure that our guests conduct business and relax in the most conducive environment in Bangalore.'' The achievement was yet another milestone for the Bangalore-based hotel, which was voted the 'World's Number one Favourite Overseas Business Hotel 2007' by Conde Nast Traveller, UK. The Hotel has also been declared by Forbes as one among the 10 hottest wedding destinations in the world, while its signature Indian restaurant, 'Jamavar' features in the Forbes list of top ten power dining spots in the world.
