Kerala HC reserves orders on senior IAS officer's petition

Kochi, July 8 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today reserved orders on a review petition filed by Senior IAS Officer and State Revenue Principal Secretary Nivedita P Haran on certain observations made by the court on her.

Mr Justice S Sirijagan reserved the orders on the conclusion of arguments by Senior Advocate P Raveendran, appearing on behalf of Ms Haran.

Last month, the judge directed Ms Haran's personal appearance before the court to answer charges she had defied the advice of the Advocate General not to take over the Thiruvnanthapuram Golf Club as the matter was due to be heard by the High Court.

Mr Raveendran contended the entire incident relating to the Golf Club takeover was a ''shadow fight'' within the government.

He added somebody else's interest was reflected in the Law Department's affidavit filed against Ms Haran.

The counsel also submitted the summoning of senior officials was against the decision of the Supreme Court.
