Kashmiri couple attempts suicide in Jammu; woman dies
Jammu, July 8 (UNI) A woman died after she and her husband attempted suicide on losing a legal battle in the Nagrota area on the city outskirts, official sources said here today.
''The kasmiri migrant couple poured kerosene oil and set themselves afire after receiving information that they had lost a legal case of land,'' Shakti Pathak, the Superintendent of Police(Rural), told UNI. They were putting up in tents at the Nagrota migrants camp, he said.
The couple was immediately referred to hospital in critical condition by the neighbours, but the woman, identified as Vaishno Devi (72), succumbed to her burns.
