Hyderabad, July 8 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today deplored the attitude of the Left parties on the Indo-US nuclear deal, which was aimed at the national interest.

Addressing a press conference here along with State Information and Public Relations Minister Aanaram Ramanarayana Reddy, state Finance Minister K Rosaiah said it was unfortunate that the Left parties in the country were opposiing the deal though Russia and China were in favour of it.

He said even though the Communist Russia was insisting that India must go ahead with the deal and China has already signed the deal with the US, the Left parties were bent upon opposing the deal inspite of the Prime Minister making it clear that the deal was for our future energy needs.

Stating that natural resources like coal were depleting, he said it was very essential to look for alternatives and the nuclear deal was very important in the present situation.

Asked about the Left parties' decision to withdraw support to the UPA government, he said this was expected and the UPA government would deal with the situation.

He ruled out any mid-term poll in the country and also in the state. The Prime Minister and the state Chief Minister had clearly stated that there would not be any midterm polls in the country.

If at all mid-term polls are held in the country, the state governmanet would go in for its Assembly elections as per schedule after completing the five year term, he said.

Referring to the BJP's demand that the UPA govenment must seek a vote of confidence following the Left Parties decision, he said the BJP can move a no-confidence against UPA, but it would fail if they do so.
