Soldier killed in firing by troops in north Kashmir

Srinagar Jul 7 (UNI) A soldier was killed when an operational party open fired on him to mistakenly in north Kashmir, official sources said today.

They said sepoy Satish Kumar of 20 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) was critically wounded when an Army party gunned him near Kakwa Gali in Karnah sector due to mistaken identity.

Mr Kumar died before he could be shifted to hospital, they said adding that troops who were posted at the Gali mistook him for a militant.
