HP to ensure availability of ordinary petrol at petrol pumps
Shimla, Jul 7 (UNI) Following complaints on the availability of only premium petrol at petrol pumps in Himachal Pradesh, the Himachal Pradesh Government today directed the officers to ensure availability of ordinary petrol in the pumps across the state.
Besides ensuring availability of ordinary petrol in the pumps, they have also been asked to ensure that they had sufficient stocks, Director Food and Civil Supplies R S Gupta said while reviewing the avalability of petroleum products in the state.
He denied reports that directions have been issued by the Centre or the petroleum companies regarding availability of only extra mile premium petrol at petrol pumps.
The availability of ordinary petrol would be ensured at all petrol pumps all the time for the convenience of consumers, he added.
Mr Gupta, however, added that provided petrol pumps had additional storage capacity they could sell extra mile premium petrol to the consumers as an additional facility only.
Officers of the Food and Civil Supplies department, Indian Oil Corporation and other Oil Companies were present in the meeting.
