Hooda announces new benefits for DRDA staff

Chandgarh, Jul 7 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced a bonanza for the employees of District Rural Development Agencies (DRDAs), which included benefit of payment of gratuity to all the employees of DRDAs and the facility of Leave Travel Concession (LTC) to them.

Announcing this here today after presiding over the meeting to consider the demands of the DRDAs employees of Haryana, the Chief Minister said that the staff of DRDAs was already getting the benefit of Leave Encashment and Ex-gratia Scheme on the pattern of Government employees.

The employees of DRDAs played a very vital role in the development of rural areas. The benefits announced today would give them further encouragement to perform their duties even more diligently which would reflect in the development of rural areas, he added.

Mr Hooda said that all the employees of the DRDAs were governed by the Service Rules framed by the Government. Haryana was one of the states which had granted the promotional avenues and better service conditions to the employees of DRDAs.

A committee had been constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Dharam Vir to look into the various aspects of the matter of merger of DRDA employees into the line departments.
