Fernandes assures of early action on interim relief to scribes
Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, Jul 7 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Labour Oscar Fernandes has assured early appropriate action by his ministry on the issue of interim relief to journalists and non-journalist employees of news papers and news agencies.
Talking to reporters here today, Mr Fernandes said the ministry was yet to receive officially the report of the wage board headed by Narayana Kurup which recommended interim relief equivalent to 30 per cent of basic salary to the journalists and non-journalist employees.
The minister said ''hopefully we will get the report by a week, thereafter my ministry will work and prepare a memo for submission before the Union Cabinet for a final decision''.
He assured that the government would take appropriate action at the appropriate time.
