Pratibha arrives on two-day visit to temple town
Tirupati, July 6 (UNI) President Pratibha Patil, who is on a two-day visit to Tirumala and Tirupati, arrived at the Renigunta airport from New Delhi by IAF aircraft, accompanied by her family members this evening.
Ms Patil was received at the airport by Assembly Deputy Speaker Kuthuhalamma, State Medical Education Minister Galla Aruna Kumari, TTD Trust Board Chairman B Karunakara Reddy, Tirupati MP Chinta Mohan, Chittoor District Collector Ravichandra, Rayalaseema IG Tagore, DIG (Anantapur) Sujatharao, among others.
Later, she proceeded to Tirumala hills, the abode of Lord Venkateswara Swamy and will have dinner and overnight stay at Padmavathi Guest House.
Police said security had been tightened at Tirumala, Alirpiri and Tirupati. Security had also been intensified in the dense Tirumala forests and on both the ghat roads between Tirupati and Tirumala.
This is the second time, Ms Patil is visiting Tirumala after becoming the President of India.
