Parliamentarian pay tributes to Shyama Prasad

New Delhi, Jul 6 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani were among the host of dignitaries who today paid floral tributes at the portrait of eminent Parliamentarian Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee in the Central Hall of Parliament on the occasion of his 107th birth anniversary.

At a simple function, Union Minister Prithviraj Chavan and BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj, V K Malhotra and RAvi Shanker Prasad and other members of Parliament and former members of Parliament were present.

A booklet containing the profile of Dr Mukherjee, brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, was presented to the dignitaries.

The portrait of Dr Mukherjee was unveiled in the Central Hall of Parliament on May 31, 1991, by the then President R Venkataraman.
