Martyr cremated with full honours in Haryana

Rohtak, Jul 6 (UNI) The mortal remains of martyr, Naib Subedar Krishan Kumar Malik, who laid down his life while fighting terrorists in Kupwara district of J&K, was consigned to the flames at his native village, Mokhara in the district today with full state and military honour.

Thousands of villagers including women and children bade a tearful adieu to the national hero.

Mr Anand Singh Dangi, MLA, Meham laid a wreath on behalf of the state government while SDM, Mr Manish Nagpal represented the district administration. Contingents of the army and Haryana Police reversed arms and fired a volley of shots in the air as the body of the martyr was consigned to the flames.

Subedar Krishan Kumar joined the Jat Regiment in Bairelly in 1986 after completing his education. He is survived by his wife Sheila Devi and two sons - Vivek and Vishal.
