Azad briefs Governor on law situation in Jammu
Srinagar, Jul 5 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today called on Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhavan and briefed him in detail about the overall law and order situation in the state.
The meeting lasted for about two hours, an official spokesman said.
He said the Governor and the Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state to maintain amity and brotherhood.
They stressed on restoration of normalcy and urged leaders from all shades of life to rise to the occasion and help in restoring the law order.
Mr Vohra described the people of the state as inheritors of a glorious ethos and lauded them for withstanding the test of times in maintaining the character of the state despite provocations by vested interests.
This was the second meeting between Mr Vohra and Mr Azad after the state Cabinet revoked the forest land transfer to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) order.
