TN CM sanctions Rs 905 crore for road development
Chennai, Jul 4 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today sanctioned Rs 905 crore for the development of 3784 km long road and 284 bridges in the State.
Thanks to the sanctioning of funds for the scheme, 17 districts, including Tiruvarur, Namakkal, Karur, Erode, Nilgiris, Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Sivaganga, Coimbatore, Tiruchirapalli and Kanniyakumari would have two lane roads, an official release here said.
The implementation of the scheme would ensure that there was no single lane roads in these districts, it said adding, besides this, 455 km long state highways would also be developed and 44 bus lay bayes would be built.
