PMC Gen Sec against dissolution of Pradesh Comm

Puducherry, Jul 4: Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) state general secretary Venkataraman took strong exception to the dissolution of the party's Pradesh Committee here recently.

Addressing a press conference, Mr Venkataraman said the party president is the only authorised person to dissolve a committee and hence the announcement of the dissolution of the state committee by party spokesman K Lakshminarayanan is not valid and the old committee would continue.

He said 5,000 people had signed to get Election Commission's recognition for the party and for dissolving the state committee, the general council and executive committee meeting should be convened. Without convening any meeting Mr Lakshminarayanan with ulterior motives had dissolved the committee and it would not be valid, he added.

Terming the party President P Kannan a ''political Chanakya'', Mr Venkataraman alleged that he was being ''cheated'' by a gang which had surrounded him, and added that he would move the court against the dissolution of the committee.
