Immediate steps to fill 3,000 vacancies in police: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 4: Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that the Government would take immediate steps for filling 3,000 vacant posts in the state police.

Speaking at a function, in connection with the passing out parade of 232 police constables here, he said the methods of recruiting police constables would be reformed and Higher Secondary would be made as the minimum qualification for joining the police force.

Mr Balakrishnan said women would soon be recruited directly to the Sub Inspector post.
