Young Interventionalist Award to Dr Sengottuvel
Chennai, Jul 3 (UNI) Dr G Sengottuvelu, Associate Professor of Cardiology, Sri Ramachandra University, has won the first prize of Young Interventionalist Award of the Asian Interventional Cardiovascular Therapeutics (AICT).
The award was presented to him by Dr Yean Leng Lim of the University of Melbourne, Australia, at AICT's fourth conference, held in Bangkok recently, a university release here said.
Dr Sengottuvelu was one of the six finalists from India, China, Japan and Thailand. His angioplasty procedure done on a 50-year-old patient at Sri Ramachandra Hospital near here in 2006 had won him the award, the release said.
The award carried a certificate, trophy and cash prize, it said.
