Vision 2020 upsets Mizo party
Aizawl, Jul 3 (UNI) No mention of power projects and other major infrastructures for Mizoram in the just-released ''NER Vision 2020'' has disappointed the Mizoram People's Conference (MPC)party.
While other Northeastern states had been allotted major projects, Mizoram got nothing in the ''NER Vision 2020'' despite the much-hyped 'peace bonus'.
This was truly unfortunate, the MPC said in a statement today.
According to MPC, Manipur got Tipaimukh hydro electric project and Loktak downstream hydro electric project, while Tripura got Palatana power plant.
Assam got Bongaigaon thermal plant, Assam gas cracker project and IIT, while Meghalaya also got IIT.
While Nagaland was getting NIFT, Arunachal Pradesh will have all its villages electrified at the cost of Rs 550 crore.
However, there was no mention of such big projects for Mizoram, the statement said adding this clearly showed that the MNF Ministry had never taken any initiative for major infrastructure.
