UTV launches in East Asia and Australia on IPTV

Mumbai, Jul 3 (UNI) UTV Global Broadcasting Limited (UGBL), the broadcasting division of UTV Software Communications Ltd, has entered into an agreement with IPTV service provider, The New Media Group (TNMG), to launch its channels UTV Movies, Hindi movie channel and UTVi, English business news channel, on TNMG's IPTV platform, 'World On-Demand' in Japan, Australia and New Zealand from August 1.

After having successfully launched its bouquet of five channels in India in a short span of six months, UGBL was now focusing on reaching out to the South Asian Diaspora overseas, the company said in a release here.

UGBL Executive Director Shantonu Aditya said TNMG has created a first-rate and progressive platform in the emerging media landscape and it was encouraging for UGBL to be a part of the momentum at which, IPTV was turning into an alternative content delivery mode.

The channels would be bundled in community packages intended for the sub-continent community subscribers of World-On-Demand as well as in the World News Pack and Asian Culture Pack.
