Telugu rural folk arts festival from July 5

Tiruchirapalli, Jul 3: A two-day South Indian Telugu rural folk arts festival will commence here on July 5, under the joint auspices of Teluguvani Trust, Hyderabad, Tiruchirapalli district Reddy Nala Sangam and Tiruchirapalli district All Telugu Community Associations.

Announcing this at a press conference here yesterday, Festival Organising Committee Chairman Jayaraman said about 300 rural folk artistes would perform Perini Siva Thondaram Train (Classical dance), Oggu Dollu Train, Urumula Chintha Train, Gusadio Train, Koya Dance Train, Ramanatakam Van Chiltoor, Villupattu, Devarattam, Sevaiyattam, Jikkattam, Katta Bommalattam, Budlga Jangala Bus (Karnataka), Thappattam, Pooja Kunitha, Gurramatta and Jangala Koothu in the fest.

Apart from this, about 100 research scholars from nine varsities of Andhra Pradesh were expected to participate in the festival, he added.

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Panabaka Lakshmi would inaugurate the festival.
