Surajbhan challenges life term in Patna High Court

Patna, Jul 3 (UNI) LJP MP from Balia Suraj Singh alias Surajbhan Singh today challenged before Patna High Court his conviction for life term in a murder case by a fast track court of Begusarai on June 25.

A division bench of the court, comprising Justice Shiv Kirti Singh and Justice Abhijit Sinha, admitted Mr Singh's petition for hearing, challenging the life term awarded to him by the Begusarai fast track court.

The bench also ordered for transfer of the records related to the case from Begusarai court to Patna High Court.

Earlier, the LJP MP and two others were awarded life term by the fast track court in connection with the murder of a farmer Rami Singh, a resident of Madhurapur in Begusarai district.
