MP observes bandh on Amarnath issue
Bhopal, July 3(UNI) BJP and Vishwa Hindu Parishad's call for 'Bharat Bandh' to protest revocation of the land allotment to Amarnath Shrine Board in Jammu and Kashmir evoked partial response in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh today.
Government offices, banks and corporate offices functioned as usual, while educational institutions, shops and markets remained closed. Many educational institutions have declared holiday in view of the bandh call.
In Bhopal, skeleton city bus services were in operation posing problems for office-goers and factory workers. BJP workers were seen moving in the city requesting traders to keep their shutters closed.
Reports received at the state police control room said bandh was near total at many places and no untoward incident had been reported so far.
