Lt Gen Sapru on three-day Jammu tour to review tense situation

Jammu, Jul 3 (UNI) General Officer Commanding-in-chief, Western Army Command, Lt Gen T K Sapru today visited the state to take stock of turbulent situation in different areas.

The army commander arrived here on an official three-day visit to the Tiger Division and other formations of the division, an official spokesman said, adding that GOC Tiger Division, Maj Gen D L Chowdhary received him.

Maj Gen Chowdhury briefed him about the tense situation prevailing in the state. Lt Gen Sapru, thereafter, visited one of the formations in the sector and carried out detailed interaction with commanders at all levels.

He also interacted with some government officials and reviewed the security situation in the state and areas around.

Lt Gen Sapru also conveyed his directions to meet the challenges of the present sensitive scenario.

The army commander is scheduled to meet many senior military commanders to discuss other security related issues.
