Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz also put under house arrest in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jul 3 (UNI) Chairman of the moderation Hurriyat Conference (HC) Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq was also put under house arrest tonight.

A spokesman of the HC Shahidul Islam told UNI tonight that a large number of police personnel have been deployed outside the Nigeen house of Mirwaiz.

He has been informed that he cannot leave his house till further orders.

Earlier, breakaway HC chairman Syed Ali Shah Geealni was also put under house arrest.

Mr Geelani and Mr Omar were scheduled to address Friday congregation at holy Hazratbal Shrine.

Mr Geelani had given Hazratbal Chalo call to offer special prayers to thank God for the victory in the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) land transfer issue.
