HC declines to interfere in awarding contract to Lanco
Kochi, Jul 3 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today declined to interfere in the award of contract to Lanco Power Ltd. in respect of the construction of the Deep Water Container Transhipment Terminal at Vizhinjam in Thiruvananthapuram.
A single Judge Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan, while dismissing the petition filed by Zoom Developers, held that the decision of the High Level Evaluation Committee was justified and it suffered no shortcomings.
Warranting judicial interference, the judge also had that the changing of partners in the consortium after opening the tender was not justified.
The decision of the High Level Committee with the opinion of the Law Secretary could not be treated as vitiated, the judge said.
The petitioner submitted that rejection of their tender at the pre-qualification stage was ''arbitrary and unjustified''.
