Ensigns offers 'health with taste' with sugarless sweetos

Lucknow, Jul 3 (UNI) A Pune based company has come up with its low calorie sweetener ''Sweetos'' in the 'City of Nawabs.' In an era of changing health scenario, where people want to remain fit without compromising on taste and spending hours on the trademills, a low calorie sweetener for the sweet freak people, who cannot imagine their life without daily dose of sugar, but are scared of getting obese and diabetic, is the good option.

Talking to mediapersons here today, Ensigns Director Madhusudan Narayan said taking serious note of increasing obese and diabetic patients in India, the company has designed it's low calorie sweetener and after achieving success in other states of India it has launched it's product in Lucknow.

Sweetos, a low calorie sweetener, which contains Sucralose and Fructo-Oligosaccharide is the only kind of sweetener available in bulk.

Besides, it has been made following the guidelines of para 47 of the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act or Food Safety Act and is safe and has no side effects.

However, pregnant women and children below two years remained the exception as they need high calorie dose, he added.

Sucralose is first alternate made from sugar and tastes like sugar, in short possess all goodness of sugar without any calorie.

More than 100 scientific studies conducted over 20 years period have conclusively demonstrated that sucrose is safe for consumption.

It had been approved for use in food and beverages in more than 40 countries, including United States, Canada, Australia, Britain and China. It is also approved by Food and Drug Administration of India.

Although sugar does not cause diabetes, excessive calories do.

Thus, one can easily remain fit by incorporating Sweetos -- available in liquid and powder form -- as suppliment for our daily sugar dose, Mr Narayan said.
