BJP wants this government to go: Venkaiah Naidu
New Delhi, Jul 3 (UNI) Former BJP President M Venkaiah Naidu today said the BJP was keeping all its options open in the event a no-confidence motion was brought up by any party against the UPA Government.
''We want this government to go. We will not do anything to save this government,'' Mr Naidu said, indicating that the BJP would support any no-confidence motion against the Manmohan Singh Government on the Indo-US nuclear deal.
He said the BJP had been maintaining a consistent stand on the nuclear deal that it was against the national interest. There is no politics involved in it except the national interest, he said.
Asked in case the Left parties withdrew their support and moved a no-confidence motion against the UPA government would the BJP support the motion, Mr Naidu said ''I will only say that the BJP will not do anything to save the government. We want it to go at the earliest which will be good for the country,'' he said.
The former BJP President said this government had failed on all fronts, be it internal security, price rise or external front.
Accusing it of playing divisive politics, he said it was bothered only about one minority, not others and was totally indifferent to the interests and sentiments of the Hindus.
He said the BJP was branded as communal only because it raised voice to protect the interests of the majority community.
