Army wants best weapons at least posible cost: Army Chief

New Delhi, Jul 3 (UNI) Army Chief General Depak Kapoor today said the Army wanted best equipment at least possible cost and added that it did not matter if the source could be the private sector.

The Chief of Army Staff said the Ordnance Factories were fast becoming competitive and efficient and provided 80 per cent of the weapons and equipment for the Army.

The Army chief was interacting with defence experts and the media after delivering a lecture on changing gglobal environment and its impact on Indian Army.

In his lecture, the Army Chief said, ''We are focused on indigenation and collaborative approach but without compromising on our operational capabilities.'' UNI NAB RL RN1614
