50 pc seats for rural students in Pre Engineering courses
Chandigarh, Jul 3 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to reserve 50 per cent seats in the Pre Engineering courses for the students of rural areas in the eleven Engineering Colleges with an intake of 200 each for the academic session 2008-09.
Stating this here today, a spokesman for the Technical Education Department said the seats would be reserved for the students who had passed 10th from rural schools.
Students from below poverty line (BPL) families would be given full fee concession.
For the session 2008-09, admissions to only 10 plus one would be made and their examinations would be conducted at institute level under the observance of Department of Technical Education.
