UP govt sanctions Rs 314 crore for electricity in rural segment

Lucknow, July 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned about Rs 314 crore to Power Corporation for Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification project.

For the year 2008-09 rural electrification under the project the state governmnet has sanctioned 314 crore 48 lakh and six thousand rupees, official sources said.

In the current fiscal year, the UP government has agreed upon Rs 1,650 crore for the electrification of rural segment.
