Health department to start 20 mobile hospitals in Punjab

Rupnagar, Jul 2 (UNI) Punjab health department would start 20 mobile hospitals in the state to provide health care facility to the people at their door step.

Health Minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla while talking to media persons at local civil hospital here today said that each mobile hospital would cost Rs 35 lakhs and all these mobile hospitals would start functioning by August 15.

She said that these mobile hospitals would be equipped with all the required medical facilities like X-Ray machines, ECG and medical staff.

She also disclosed that an Ayurvedic pharmacy was being set up at Patiala, which would start functioning by July 31 adding that an Ayurvedic laboratory was also being set up at Patiala at a cost of Rs 2.5 crores provided by the Centre, which would start functioning by October 15.

She said that Ayurvedic and homeopathic hospitals would be shifted to the civil hospitals at district level.
