Elango Industries plans to set up 80 MW power plant in TN

New Delhi, Jul 2 (UNI) Elango Industries Ltd today said the company plans to set up an 80 MW coal based Power Plant at Gummudipoondi near Chennai, Tamilnadu.

''At the moment, the company is planning to setup an 80MW coal based Power Plant at Gummudipoondi,'' Elango Industries said in a statement without disclosing the financial details.

The company shifted its focus from steel industry to power generation and distribution, the statement added.

In 2006, it had commissioned a gas based power plant at Mayiladuthurai Tamilnadu, through a special purpose vehicle Kaveri Gas Power Ltd.
