Air travel to cost more, ATF price up by 7 pc
{image-fueling jet1_01072008.jpg news.oneindia.in}New Delhi, Jul 1: The country's oil marketing companies further hiked prices of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) by about seven per cent, making air travel costlier for the consumers.
Consequently, ATF will now cost Rs 69,097.19 a kl in Delhi, while the same in Mumbai would cost Rs 71,630.53 a kl with effect from yesterday night. The decision to hike the jet fuel prices comes at a time when the aviation industry is reeling under intense pressure of rising operating costs, and leading airlines like Jet Airways reported losses running into crores of rupees.
