Bank of Baroda waives farmer loans up to Rs.665 cr
Mumbai, Jun 30 (UNI) The Bank of Baroda, under Government of India's Agriculture Debt Waiver and Debt Relief Scheme, has waived Rs.665 crore, benefitting more than 300,000 farmers, including 2,26,000 small and marginal farmers and 78,000 other farmers.
The list of eligible farmer beneficiaries have been displayed in 1915 branches across the country, the bank said in a release here adding that the Certificate of Waivers along with Prime Minister's letter to farmer beneficiaries are being issued to all eligible farmers. Fresh loans were also being sanctioned to them by these branches across India.
Bank Chairman and Managing Director M.D. Mallya visited Theur Branch, Pune and distributed Certificate of Waivers along with Prime Minister's letter to the eligible farmers. He also distributed sanction letter for fresh Agriculture Loans to these farmers. In Maharashtra, -22,500- farmers have been benefited and became eligible for fresh agriculture finance by Bank of Baroda. An amount of Rs.57 crore has been waived.
Bank ED V Santhanaraman who visited Andhra Pradesh to oversee the implementation of Debt Waiver and Debt Relief Scheme, distributed Certificate of Waiver, Prime Minister's Letter to Small and Marginal Farmers of Kadipikonde branch along with sanction letter for fresh Agriculture Loan. In Andhra Pradesh -14,500- farmers have been benefited by Bank of Baroda with waiver amount of Rs.32 crore.
Another ED S.C. Gupta was in Unnao branch in Uttar Pradesh, where the Bank is SLBC Convener and distributed Certificate of Waiver, Prime Minister's Letter to the eligible farmers along with sanction letter for fresh loans to the Small&Marginal Farmers of Unnao branch.
Over 1,07,000 farmers have been benefited with a waiver of Rs 240 crore by Bank of Baroda in Uttar Pradesh.
