Will Smith desperate to beat Tom Cruise's red carpet record

Washington, Jun 29 : American actor Will Smith has decided to defeat his pal Tom Cruise, by spending as much time as possible on the red carpet.

Smith is at the moment busy promoting his new film Hancock across the globe and he is desperate to meet and greet as many fans as possible.

Smith's main aim is to break Cruise's record of almost three hours signing autographs during a previous movie premiere.

"It's hard to beat that dude. He has another gear," Contactmusic quoted Smith as saying.

"He did two and a half hours in France for Mission: Impossible on the red carpet.

"Now when I go to France, people will say, 'You know, Tom was out here for two and a half hours'," he added.
