Good turnouts in Midnapur, Habra and Panihati elections
Midnapur, Jun 29 (UNI) Over seventy-five per cent electors cast their votes for 24-member Midnapur municipality board election that went beyond scheduled 1500 hours closing time owing to heavy rains today.
Left Front's Bikash Parishad has been pitted against TMC and SUCI combined and the Congress was fighting separately.
District magistrate and election officer N.S.Nigam said the overall polling was peaceful.
Another report from North 24-Parganas said polling was also peaceful at Habra's 23-member municipal board and also 35-member Panihati board.
About seventy per cent voters turned out in the polling in these two municipalites.
