Countrywide agitation if land transfer to SASB revoked: BJP

Jammu, Jun 28 (UNI) Demanding Governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect, the BJP today warned that it would hold countrywide protests if any decision to revoke the transfer of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) is taken in the wake of the PDP pulling out of the Congress-led coalition government in the state.

Reacting to the political situation after the PDP withdrew support on the issue of land transfer to the SASB in Kashmir, BJP state coordinator R P Singh appealed to Governor N N Vohra to ensure that the order regarding land transfer is not revoked as the government has lost majority in the House.

''If the transfer order is revoked, we will launch countrywide agitation,'' Mr Singh said, urging the Governor to ensure adequete security to the Amarnath pilgrims as it has become his responsibility now.
