Scheme for more investment into energy sector

New Delhi, Jun 27 (UNI) Union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Vilas Muttemwar today announced a new scheme on generation based incentives.

He was addressing a press conference here. The scheme seeks to attract new and large independent power producers to wind-power sector by offering incentives, he said.

The Minister said that the scheme had been introduced since the independent producers will bring in competition leading to reduction in over all price.

It will also, he said serve to improve the quality of wind turbines. Besides, optimal layout of wind farms and improvement in the standard of O &M of wind farms would result in optimal harnessing of the wind resources, said Mr Muttemwar.
