Rodrigues condoles Sam Manekshaw's demise

Chandigarh, Jun 27 (UNI) Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gen (Retd) SF Rodrigues today expressed grief over the demise of Field Marshal Sam HFJ Manekshaw.

Describing Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw as a versatile genius with qualities of head and heart, General Rodrigues said his four decade distinguished Army career in different capacities has various land marks, prominently his leadership in the triumph of the 1971 Indo-Pak War, leading to the creation of Bangladesh.

''He was a committed and dedicated solider and set noble traditions in the military, which will continue to be the source of guidance and inspiration to the Indian Armed Forces for all time,'' Gen Rodrigues said.

Gen Rodrigues also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
