'Manekshaw's death indeed a loss to the country' : Somnath

New Delhi, Jun 27 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today expressed grief over the death of nonagenarian Field Marshal Sam HFJ Manekshaw at a Military Hospital at Wellington in Tamil Nadu last night.

In a statement, Mr Chatterjee said the Field Marshal's death was indeed a great loss to the country and his deeds and achievements will always stand as great examples of patriotism and of high and inspiring leadership for others to follow. ''He has made great contribution towards making Indian Army about what we are all proud,'' he said.
