Kerala plans new law to check marriage expense: Minister
Thiruvananthapuram, June 27 (UNI) The Kerala Government will explore the possibilities of bringing in a new legislation to check lavish marriages in the State, Health Minister P K Sreemathy told the State Assembly today.
In a written reply to Mr A A Aziz (RSP), she said the Government was exploring the possibilities of bringing in a new legislation, making marriages a less expensive affair.
Minister said the Government had noted that huge amount of money was being spent on many marriages in the State and it had become a social problem as many families fall into debt traps after this.
