First flight operations Type Rating Training School in Mumbai
Mumbai, Jun 27 (UNI) India's first flight operations Type Rating Training School is now functioning in the metropolis.
Jet Airways has become the country's first airline to obtain approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to run its Type Rating Training School as a Type Rating Training Organization (TRTO), a jet release said here today.
With the TRTO approval, granted by DGCA to the establishment, the endorsement course and examinations will be conducted in-house, under the supervision of DGCA. This will expedite the training commitments and enable Jet Airways to induct pilots in smaller batches at regular intervals, in order to optimize the usage of simulator as well as ground school training facilities.
Earlier, the evaluation used to be conducted by DGCA.
The approval for the training establishment was granted to Jet Airways on April 15, 2008.
