Building info on internet from July 1
Mumbai, June 27 (UNI) In a move to increase transparency, details of all new and old buildings in the metropolis will be made available on the internet by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) from July one.
Speaking to reporters here today, Municipal Commissioner Jairaj Phatak said the BMC will start the procedure from the Eastern suburbs of Mumbai. ''Since the eastern suburb is comparatively small, it has been selected and once it is successful it will be spread to other areas,'' the civic chief said.
Initially, the website will carry the details of the new buildings and also the buildings which have been applied for permission to the civic authorities and in due course of time it will carry all the details of the old constructions as well, Mr Phatak said.
