SW Monsoon active over Chhattisgarh

Bhopal, Jun 26 (UNI) The South-west Monsoon is active over neighbouring Chhattisgarh though several places in Madhya Pradesh are receiving scanty rainfall.

After bursting over this state's north-eastern parts, the Monsoon has slackened and is yet to grace the entire state. ''Cyclonic circulation exists over the Bay of Bengal off the Orissa coast and is likely cause heavy precipitation in Chhattisgarh over the next 24 hours,'' a Regional Meteorological Centre official said.

Widespread rain is not expected in Madhya Pradesh but several places in Sagar, Rewa and Jabalpur divisions would receive downpours.

Medium to heavy precipitation was witnessed overnight in Jabalpur, Bhopal, Rewa, Hoshanganbad, Indore and Ujjain divisions. Malajkhand and Mandla recorded 4 cm each.
