Motorcyclist dies in bike-truck collision
Mumbai, Jun 26 (UNI) In a road accident, a motorcyclist was killed and pillion rider sustained injuries after the bike, in which they were travelling, collided with a truck at Senapati Bapat Marg in Central Mumbai today.
According to the information, at around 0145 hrs the motorcyclist Jaiyesh Ranaji Dewara (23) along with his friend Bhopendar Talwar (24) was driving from wrong side of the road near Big Bazar, when the accident occurred resulting Dewara's death on the spot. They were shifted to KEM hospital.
N M Joshi Marg police has registered an offence of negligence driving against the motorcyclist and the driver of the truck Nilkhand Rathod has been made as a witness. The truck-driver had helped to rush victims to the hospital.
Senior Inspector of Police Vasant Tajne said, ''We are awaiting for the postmortem report to ascertain whether the motorcyclist was under the influence of alcohol or not.
