Kerala extends date for IOC sales tax remittance
Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 26: The Cabinet decided to extend the time limit to the Indian Oil Corporation for remitting its sales tax to December 31, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said.
Briefing Cabinet decisions to reporters here, he said the IOC had to pay Rs 30 crore to the state exchequer on this account.
The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) had to pay huge amount to the IOC for purchasing diesel and the concession was granted considering this aspect, he added.
The Cabinet also decided to provide Rs 145 lakh to the Indian Overseas Bank from the Contingency Fund for one-time settlement to the liabilities of the Keltron.
The government would also provide Rs two Lakh to the family of the girl, who died following sexual harassment at Poovarani, he added.
