Five passengers killed in bus-truck collision

Ahmedabad, Jun 26 (UNI) At least five people, including a woman, travelling in a state transport bus were killed on the spot when the vehicle collided with a speeding truck on the Tharad-Sanchor state highway in Banaskantha district here today.

According to Tharad police station sources, the accident occurred around 0830 hrs this morning when the driver of the truck, lost control over the steering and collided with the bus coming from the opposite direction.

The deceased have been identified as Javed Ibrahim, Hariben Hajabha, Nitaben Makwana, Samarsinh Raiyabha and Rajendrasinh Ajitsinh.

Five of the injured were rushed to the civil hospital at Disa town.

The driver of the truck escaped from the scene after the accident.
