Driver dies, cleaner injured as trolley-truck falls from flyover

New Delhi, Jun 26 (UNI) One person died and another injured, when a trolley-truck fell from a flyover in the Shahdara area of east Delhi this morning.

While the driver, Manoj, died at the G T B Hospital, the cleaner Chottey Lal was discharged after first aid, said the police.

The trolley-truck smashed into the railing of the Shahdara-Dilshad Garden flyover at about 0830 hrs before falling nearly 30-foot on the road below, after the driver lost control.

The cleaner later told the police that the truck was speeding and the driver felt sleepy.

He had earlier phoned the transport company at about 0630 hrs for directions as he had lost hia way.

Both the driver and the cleaner hailed from Ballia in Uttar Pradesh.
