BJP highlights UPA's nuclear 'tamasha'
New Delhi, Jun 26 (UNI) As the UPA and the Left parties battle for and against the Indo-US nuclear deal, the BJP today reiterated that the whole 'tamasha' was to divert the attention of the people from the burning issues like price rise and inflation.
Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said that the stands of the Congress and Left parties on the nuclear deal were all known to everybody but still the parties chose to meet and discuss only to meet again and continue with their exercise. This is nothing but a tamasha," he said.
He dismissed the claims of the Congress that the price rise and inflation was a global problem. This is only a half truth because the inflation in countries like Japan, Germany, Canada which did not have petroleum reserves or even a developing country like Malaysia ranged between 0.81 to three per cent. The Centre should explain how these countries managed to check the inflation and India could not, he said, Meanwhile, a section in the party seems to think that there would be no early Lok Sabha elections and the tussle within the UPA was only a 'mock fight' to divert the attention from the burning issues and failures.
